I had the pleasure of planning an amazing friend of mine son’s UTSA graduation celebration. Being a former UTSA graduate, this event was very close to my heart and I loved planning it! Angela reached out to me about five months before the graduation with a clean canvas of what to do for her son’s celebration. Angela wanted to have an intimate dinner with family and friends to celebration her son’s great accomplishment.
She decided to go with the Mexican restaurant El Chaparral in Helotes, TX. She wanted to have UTSA colors/décor sprinkled around the room and at the guest tables. Each table had Orange napkins, Blue or Orange runners, and Blue or Orange picture frames of her son. The unique aspect about the pictures at each table was they told a story of a major milestone in her son’s life. From the time he was in Boy Scouts, first award in school, group activities and even a few toddler head shots for films & commercials he was part in.
The cake table was all UTSA theme. We decide to go with a Blue full-length table cloth, Orange runners, a few pictures, Orange and Blue bubble backdrop, Orange and Blue pennant and of course a three tier cake all UTSA theme.
The dinner was full of laughter and so many stories celebrating Angela’s son. Overall everyone was so proud of her son’s accomplishment but his mom was the proudest of him and how far he has come as a man. She can’t want to see what new chapters lie ahead for him.
